Three Programmes, One Address

Practical Support for Every Stage of Household Life

From clearing a paper backlog to settling into a new neighbourhood — each programme is built around a specific household need, with a clear process and an all-inclusive fee.

How We Approach Every Engagement

Every Merbau Table programme begins with a short intake conversation — by phone or in person — where we listen to the household's situation before making any recommendation. We do not push the highest-priced option; we identify the one that fits.

From there, each service follows a documented workflow so you know what to prepare, what will happen during the session or visit, and what you will have at the end. The assistant assigned to you is matched based on the task type and, where relevant, language preference.

At the close of every engagement, a written summary is provided. For multi-session programmes, a check-in call is offered at the midpoint to adjust the plan if anything has changed.

Intake First

No booking without a conversation. We understand the need before we propose anything.

Documented Process

Each programme follows a clear structure — no improvising on the day.

Matched Assistant

Language preference and task type are both considered when assigning your assistant.

Written Close-Out

Every session ends with a written summary of what was done and any next steps.

Programme 01 · Single Visit

Household Paperwork Organisation Visit

A two-hour home or office visit where a support assistant helps you sort household documents into a simple, labelled system — identity copies, utility accounts, school records, insurance policy folders, warranty slips — and sets up a one-page index so anyone in the family can find things. Suitable for busy households, carers, and anyone starting fresh after a move. Includes a set of labelled folders and a digital checklist. We organise and explain; we do not interpret contracts or give advice on their contents.

  • Labelled folder set provided — no need to prepare anything in advance
  • One-page family index so anyone can locate any document quickly
  • Digital checklist emailed after the visit for your records
  • Home or office — we come to where the documents are
  • No contract interpretation or legal advice — purely organisational

How the Visit Runs

1

Triage (30 min): We look through what you have and sort everything into three piles — action needed, file and keep, and discard with caution.

2

Organise (60 min): Documents go into labelled folders in a sequence that makes sense for your household — by type, by person, or by date, whichever works best.

3

Handover (30 min): We walk you through the completed system, produce the one-page index, answer any questions, and provide the written session summary.

Document organisation session

Best for

Busy households whose paperwork has accumulated over months or years; families dealing with a relative's estate or belongings; anyone who has just moved home and needs to set up a system from scratch.

Senior companion desk session

Best for

Older residents living alone or with family who want a dependable, recurring assistant for digital portals, letter reading, appointment preparation, or counter visits — without the pace and format of a formal service.

Programme 02 · Monthly · Most Requested

Senior Companion Desk

A monthly package for older residents who would like a friendly, unhurried person to help with everyday administrative tasks: booking appointments, using an e-service portal, understanding a letter in plain language, or preparing for a visit to a public counter. Includes four weekly one-hour sessions (in person or by phone), a family update note after each session, and priority booking. Designed around the pace of the person, with no rushing.

  • Four weekly one-hour sessions — in person or by phone, as preferred
  • Family update note after every session, written in plain language
  • Priority booking — your session time is reserved at the start of each month
  • Same assistant throughout — consistency matters for older clients
  • Session plan adjusted monthly based on what has changed

What a Typical Month Looks Like

1

Week 1: Monthly plan call — we review what came in (letters, portal notifications, upcoming appointments) and agree on priorities for the four sessions.

2

Weeks 2–3: Task sessions — working through items on the plan, at the client's pace, in the format they find most comfortable.

3

Week 4: Close-out and carry-forward — we complete the month's written summary and note anything to carry into next month's plan.

A twelve-week programme for individuals or families new to the area, combining orientation, practical assistance and community introductions. Includes an intake conversation, a personalised settling-in plan, six accompanied visits (e.g. local council counter, public transport pass counter, school or community centre), a neighbourhood handbook, and introductions to two local community groups. Everything is arranged around your schedule and language comfort, with clear explanations at every step.

  • Personalised settling-in plan built from your intake conversation
  • Six accompanied visits — council, transport, school, community, or other
  • Printed neighbourhood handbook covering local services and contacts
  • Introductions to two relevant community groups — arranged, not just listed
  • Midpoint check-in to adjust the plan if priorities have shifted

Best for

Individuals or families who have relocated to the Petaling Jaya or Klang Valley area within the last six months and find the first few months of settling in — counters, services, transport, community — more time-consuming and confusing than expected.

Standards Shared Across All Programmes

Confidentiality

No copies of personal documents are made or retained without your explicit agreement.

Vetted Assistants

All assistants hold a current SPRM declaration and have passed a standard background check.

Plain Language

Explanations avoid jargon. If something is unclear, we say it differently — not just repeat it.

Written Summary

Every session ends with a written record of what was done and any follow-up items identified.

Scope Discipline

We redirect to qualified professionals when a question falls outside our scope — clearly and without delay.

All-Inclusive Fees

The price stated is what is charged. Any variation — such as travel outside the standard area — is discussed before the booking, not after.
